Recently, Japanese soba is popular among foreign tourists. At one standing soba restaurant, nearly half of the customers on days off are foreigners. Japanese people have pursued soba from long ago. What’s the style of soba that we see in rakugo? Why do middle aged people become absorbed with the depth of soba making? Does Japanese soba have the potential to spread around the world?
